Introducing Fiberskin Tag by Polyart

For many businesses, finding a label or tag material that performs in demanding conditions has meant relying on plastic. Fiberskin Tag offers a different path. This unique and innovative solution from Polyart is 100% paper-based, yet it delivers the tear resistance and durability that print and packaging applications demand.

At its core, Fiberskin Tag is made from 100% cellulose. A barrier coating makes it water repellent, and it holds up well in humid conditions, which makes it a dependable choice where ordinary paper would struggle. It is also tear resistant, so tags and labels stay intact through handling, transport and everyday use. Crucially, none of this comes at the expense of the environment. Fiberskin Tag is recyclable, biodegradable and compostable, and it carries FSC® certification (FSC® C015259), giving customers a credible, sustainable alternative to plastic without compromising on quality.

Printability is another strength. Fiberskin Tag is compatible with dry toner on both sides, including reel-fed dry toner, and it can also be printed using UV offset. It has been tested on Ricoh, Konica Minolta and Fuji equipment, and it is easy to convert, so it fits comfortably into existing production workflows.

Fiberskin Tag is food grade and available in 135gsm C1S and 185gsm C1S, with pricing on request for the 185gsm option. Sheets come in 330 x 450mm as standard, with 660 x 450mm and 660 x 900mm available on request. For digital reel printing, a 330mm wide reel in 137gsm is available for HP Indigo, and other grammages can be supplied on request.

The range of applications is broad. Fiberskin Tag is well suited to event bibs and wristbands, net and band for fruit and vegetables, wine bottle tags, and food labels used in cold and refrigerated environments. It also works well for field manuals, nursery, bin and bag tags, and menus. Wherever a tag or label needs to be tough, printable and kind to the planet, Fiberskin Tag is worth considering.

To get the best results, store the material in its original, unopened and undamaged packaging at 20-25°C and around 50% relative humidity, away from heat and direct sunlight. After transport or storage in cold rooms, allow the material to adjust to the printing room’s climate before use. For optimal quality, it is recommended that the material be used within one year of the manufacturing date.
